International Ed Leadership eSeries: Badges Work!

Congratulations to University at Albany for their IEL eSeries and recognizing success with digital badges! We look forward to watching these exciting programs grow and seeing ever more badges pop up in our LinkedIn feeds as our colleagues earn them. Current badges include Global Alumni Relations and Education Abroad Trends, Strategies and Tactics. Check the U.Albany badge website.

At U.Albany, the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership (EPL) has created a complete ecosystem of support for aspiring, rising and more advanced international education leaders with three programs featuring experts in the field. The digitally badged International Education Leadership Expert Series (eSeries) complements the Masters and graduate Certificate programs. Digital badges give the eSeries graduates a great way to tell their employers and networks about their commitment and accomplishments in the field. And, they also help the Department get the word out about their other great programs.

In her role as the Strategic Initiatives Fellow at the U.Albany School of Education, our founder Nancy Ruther has been working with Dean Jason Lane, Professor, and Program Director Mitch Leventhal, and the leadership team to develop and launch this program. Won’t you consider registering for her own IEL eSeries course this summer “Connected Strategies for International Education”? For a valuable double feature, register for the U.Albany Summer Institute “Can Crisis Be Opportunity? International Education in an Age of Superbugs, Borders and Carbon Footprints”. All programs are completely online with a mix of face-to-face and outside of class sessions with peers.

Go to the U.Albany badge website to watch the number of badges grow along with the IEL eSeries program! We’ll be watching for the badge for Nancy’s “Connected Strategies for International Education” course to be posted!!
