Women in College.jpg

In our first year, Gazelle International worked with the founder of the Amanat Trust to frame his vision and mission and develop an advisory group, to set the initial strategy and to launch the first four field projects focused on women’s livelihoods and education in Jordan, Afghanistan, and Indonesia.

Beyond Gazelle International, our founder Nancy Ruther has also served the Women Faculty Forum at Yale as Senior Fellow in Higher Education and Strategy since 2017. Advising the faculty Chair and leadership to rebuild and energize this interdisciplinary faculty advocacy group, she has:

  •  Streamlined the operating procedures and re-set the mission and governance.

  • Kick-started new programming with seed grants and talks.

  • Completed projects capitalizing on the #Metoo cultural inflection moment.

  • Co-authored the five year report on gender and diversity of the Yale faculty, and The View 2016-17

  • Initiated wide consultation and analysis of action needs with President, Provost, Faculty Senate and other leadership groups on campus.

Nancy's energy and focus, at Gazelle International, was crucial to getting the Amanat Trust off the ground.  She provided shrewd inputs to our strategic planning processes as well as  innovative ideas for integrating technology into our work. Nancy proved invaluable in measuring results working closely with our grantees to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks.  She is knowledgeable, versatile and flexible.
